Show Hidden Files on your Mac;

Posted on Updated on

Last night i was working with SVN and need to delete .svn files in a particular directory hierarchy;

I couldn’t find a direct way to do this so i moved to terminal and achieved this;

So hows it go;

Launch the Terminal and enter these commands exactly as shown. The first command activates the ability to see the hidden files:

defaults write AppleShowAllFiles TRUE

Now you must relaunch the Finder by killing it, this is how the changes take effect:

killall Finder

Thats it;

    In order to hide these files we can run
    defaults write AppleShowAllFiles FALSE
    KillAll Finder
